Preparations are underway for the Group’s annual Food Safety Week which will run from the 8th to the 12th of February 2021.
The purpose of the event is to get employees interacting and learning about food safety through a range of engaging quizzes and activities. Employees working from home will also be able to join the event virtually through Microsoft Teams and interactive quizzes. Information on how to participate from home will follow soon.
As this is the fifth year running the event, the number ‘five’ will resonate throughout the week. The event will focus on five key topics, with each topic covering five areas of focus, with the fifth and final day being a celebration of the Food Safety Week’s 5-year anniversary. We hope that this year will be a resounding success.
Robert Tunney, Group Food Safety Audit Manager, commented:
“It’s fair to say that any previous plans that were in place for Food Safety Week have had to be torn up and started again as at no point would we have thought that we would run a week that relies on staff interaction whilst in the middle of a pandemic and with social distancing rules in place. As a result, the Food Safety Team have looked into utilising other delivery methods and will be reliant on using Microsoft Teams and digital/mobile technology to ensure the importance of food safety is still at the forefront of everyone’s minds.”
All preparations for the event are now being finalised by the team. Highlights of the event will be posted internally throughout the week on Yammer and social media. Please join in by partaking in the activities and sharing your pictures on Yammer using the hashtag #FSW2021.
The Food Safety Team hope that you enjoy the event.
